SWEET ANGEL OF MERCY

Sweet Angel of mercy
By heaven's decree
Benignly appointed
To watch over me.
Without thy protection
So constant and nigh
I could not well live,
I should perish and die.
All thanks for thy love,
Dear companion and friend
Oh, may it continue
With me to the end.
O cease not to keep me
Blessed guide of my youth
In the way of religion
And virtue and truth.

ANGEL LEAD ME TO JESUS

Dear Angel ever at my side
I pray that I may e'er abide
Within the sight of our Dear Lord,
That's all I ask for a reward.
To walk with Him along His way
That He has trod for me,
To talk with Him and hear Him say
That He is pleased to see
A child like me with an Angel bright
Ever near at hand.
A messenger from the
Heavenly land
To guide my steps aright.
