Prayers for Holy Communion
1
My God, help me to make a good Holy Communion.
To Thy glory and for the good of my soul I wish to receive
the Most Holy Sacrament.
Mary, my Mother, pray to Jesus for me.
My good Angel Guardian, lead me to the altar of God.
My patron Saints, pray for me that I may receive the Lord with
a heart that is pleasing to him and with great profit to my soul.
2
O Lord, I am not worthy that
Thou shouldst come to me,
But speak the words of comfort,
My spirit healed shall be.
And humbly I'll receive Thee,
The Bridegroom of my soul,
No more by sin to grieve Thee,
Or fly Thy sweet control.
O Mighty Eternal Spirit,
Unworthy tho' I be,
Prepare me to receive Him,
And trust the Word to me.
3
Jesus, gentle Savior,
God of might and power,
Thou Thyself art dwelling
In me at this hour.
Multiply Thy graces,
Chiefly love and fear,
And dear Lord, the chiefest,
Grace to persevere.
When my heart thou leavest,
Lord, worthless though it be,
Give it to Thy Mother
To be kept for Thee.
4
Jesus, I believe that Thou
art truly present in the
Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
I believe it with all my heart and soul,
because Thou, O my God,
didst say so.
5
Jesus, I adore Thee
above all things.
May all Thou hast created
give Thee thanks and praise
and adore Thee
forever. Amen.

ANIMA CHRISTI
Soul of Christ, sanctify me;
Body of Christ, save me;
Blood of Christ, inebriate me;
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me;
Within Thy Wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.
From the malignant enemy, defend me;
In the hour of my death call me.
And bid me come to Thee
That with Thy Saints I may praise Thee
For ever and ever.
Partial Indulgence.

Reflections after Holy Communion
Call to mind frequently during the day that you received Jesus, Truly
Present, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Blessed Sacrament and
say to yourself; "this morning Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave
Himself to me, came to dwell within me."
Remember that your tongue has received Jesus, that it has touched His
Sacred Body under the form of the Host. Recall this thought to mind
when you are tempted to speak impatiently, or so as to offend or injure
your neighbor, which surely ought to keep you from offending Jesus with
the very tongue that has been sanctified by the touch of His Sacred
Flesh.
