As Thomas Droleskey wrote in the October 31, 2004 issue of THE REMNANT, the only election that actually counts is our Baptism and from this grace and our continual striving for the Social Reign of Christ the King. To that end we offer these prayers from the Raccolta: O Jesus King Most Wonderful: From the Raccolta O Jesus, King most wonderful, Thou Conqueror renowned! Thou Sweetness most ineffable, In Whom all joys are found! When once Thou visitest the heart, Then truth begins to shine; The earthly vanities depart; Then kindles love Divine. O Jesus, Light of all below! Thou Fount of life and fire, Surpassing all the joys we know, And all we can desire! May every heart confess Thy Name, And ever Thee adore; And seeking Thee, itself inflame To seek Thee more and more. Thee may our tongues forever bless; Thee may we love alone; And ever in our lives express The image of Thine Own. Amen. [No. 117] Ejaculatory Prayers From the Raccolta My Jesus, Thou art Love Itself. Enkindle in my heart that Divine fire which consumes the Saints and transforms them into Thee. [No. 90] Lord Jesus, through Thine infant cries when Thou wert born for me in the manger; through Thy tears when Thou didst die for me on the Cross; through Thy love as Thou livest for me in the tabernacle, have mercy on me and save me. [No. 93] THE MOST HOLY NAME OF JESUS Jesus most merciful, in early infancy Thou didst begin Thine office of Saviour by shedding Thy Precious Blood and assuming for us that Name which is above all names. I thank Thee for such early proofs of Thine infinite love. I venerate Thy sacred Name in union with the deep respect of the Angel who first announced it to the earth. I also unite my affections to the sentiments of tender devotion which Thine adorable Name has, in all ages, enkindled in the hearts of Thy servants. Jesus, Thou hast said, "If you ask the Father anything in My name, He will give it to you." (John 16:23.) I earnestly ask the Father in Thy Name for an increase of faith, hope, and charity, and the grace to lead a good life and to die a happy death. Jesus, Thou hast said, "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it." (John 14:14.) I earnestly ask Thee in Thy Name to save my soul. I also ask in Thy Name for the following favor: (mention your request.) Jesus, Thy most holy Name means "Saviour." Be my Saviour, sweetest Jesus. Mercifully grant me through Thine adorable Name, which is the joy of Heaven, the terror of Hell, the consolation of the afflicted, and the solid ground of my unlimited confidence, all the petitions I make in this prayer. Blessed Mother of our Redeemer, thou didst share so closely in the suffering of thy dear Son from the moment that He shed His Precious Blood and assumed for us the Name of Jesus, till His last breath on the Cross. Obtain for me and all those I love, as well as for all the faithful, the grace of eternal salvation through the holy Name of Jesus. Beg also that a most ardent love for thy Divine Son may imprint that sacred Name upon our hearts; that it may be always in our minds, and frequently on our lips; that it may be our defense in temptation, our refuge in danger during our lives, and our consolation and support in the hour of death. Amen. O Jesus, Thou the beauty art Of angel worlds above! Thy Name is music to the heart, Enchanting it with love! Celestial sweetness unalloyed! Who eat Thee hunger still, Who drink of Thee still feel a void Which naught but Thou can fill!   O my sweet Jesus, hear the sighs  Which unto Thee I send! To Thee my inmost spirit cries, My being's hope and end. Stay with us, Lord, and with Thy light  Illume the soul's abyss; Scatter the darkness of our night And fill the world with bliss. O Jesus, spotless Virgin flower!  Our life and joy! To Thee Be praise, beatitude, and power,  Through all eternity! Amen. [No. 116]   Good Jesus, according to Thy great mercy, have mercy on me. Most merciful Jesus, by that Precious Blood which Thou didst willingly shed for sinners, I beg Thee to wash away all my sinfulness and to look graciously upon me, a poor and unworthy sinner, as I call upon Thy holy Name. Therefore, Jesus, save me for the sake of Thy holy Name.   [No. 121] O God, Thou hast appointed Thine only-begotten Son to be the Saviour of mankind, and Thou didst  command His Name to be called Jesus. Mercifully grant that we may enjoy the vision of Him in Heaven, Whose holy Name we venerate on earth. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. [No. 122]
