This image is popularly known as the Little Black Lady of the Black Madonna. The monk Fray Juan de Rizzi ececuted this painting commemorating the arrival of the miraculous image of Our Lady at Monserrat, tn centuries before. It had been hidden for almost 200 years before this in the mountain that bars the same name.
