65 The Tomb of Leo XI Allesandro Algardi 1634 1605 to 1605 Pope Leo XI was the great-nephew of Pope Leo X and a relative of the French Queen Marie de' Medici. He was already aged when elected and very ill. He died just ten days after taking the Chair of Peter.
