Good Friday Novenas

GOOD FRIDAY NOVENA 1:
Say either 33 or 9 times during the day, depending on the time it takes for you to fulfill your duties.

Jesus Christ,
Son of God made Man,
crowned with thorns,
bearing a scepter of a reed,
wearing a royal cloak purpled
with Thy Precious Blood,
I adore Thee as the Man of Sorrows
and acknowledge Thee as my Lord and King!

Jesus crucified,
I firmly renounce the devil
and detest all sin
that has torn me from Thy loving friendship.
I pledge my loyalty to Thee,
my Saviour,
and beg Thee to make me Thine Own in sincerest love.
I promise to be faithful in service to Thee,
and to strive to become more pleasing to Thee
by avoiding every sin and its occasions,
by carrying out my duties
perfectly as a good Catholic,
and by practicing virtue.

Jesus crucified,
accept the homage I wish to render Thee
during this novena,
as a token of my sincerest appreciation
for the sorrows and sufferings
Thou hast willingly borne to atone for my many sins
and to prove how much Thou dost love me.

I adore Thee as my very God,
Who willed to become Man
in order to save me from eternal death.

I thank Thee as my best Friend,
Who laid down Thy life
as proof of the greatest love possible.

I ask pardon for having so little thought of Thee,
Jesus crucified,
and for having caused Thy sorrows
and sufferings by the many sins I have committed.

I pray to Thee,
dearest Jesus,
for all the graces I need to know Thee,
to love Thee and serve Thee faithfully unto death,
and to save my soul.
Give me a tender and fervent devotion
to Thy Sacred Passion by which I was redeemed,
adoring Thee especially in Holy Mass.
Teach me how to unite sorrows and sufferings
of my life with Thine Own.

Finally, through all Thy sorrows and pains,
through Thy Sacred Heart
glowing with love for me,
broken because of my want of love for Thee,
through the sorrows of Mary,
Thy Sorrowful Mother,
I ask for this special favour:

GOOD FRIDAY NOVENA 2:

"O, my Lord Jesus, I hereby beg of Thee, by the merits of Thy Precious Blood, by Thy Divine Heart,
and by the intercession of Thy Most Holy Death to assist me in this pressing necessity."
(To be said 33 times for each intention. It must be said during the hours of 12 NOON and 3 PM.)

GOOD FRIDAY NOVENA 3:
To be said 33 times for each intention on Good Friday (12am-12pm):

O Great Passion,
O Deep Wounds,
O Blood shed in abundance
O Cruel Death,
O Sweetness above all sweetness
Have mercy on me,
and grant me perfect contrition for my sins,
the grace to amend my life,
and the special favor I now implore,
through the infinite merits of the Passion and Death
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
