Pray for America, May God Bless President Trump and Vice President Pence

I was not a Trump enthusiast at the offing. While he had analyzed what ails our country with brilliant precision from a secular view, it was disquieting to say the least that he began as a braggard of the worst sort because he said that he did not need God's forgiveness for anything.

We are all sinners, for even the "just fall seven times" daily according to God's Holy Word. Although he said many, many good things that demonstrated he was sincere in his patriotism and love of the American people unlike his opponent whom we know from her campaign chairman's emails had "begun to hate ordinary Americans." And all too often he struck a thorny note that was off-putting. I was all set to write in Sen. Marco Rubio's name on principle. I have been an Independent for almost half of my life now, after leaving the activist Republican milieu I had adopted when I abandoned my family's Democratic roots. Catholic and pro-life to the core I never seemed to find a home here in contrarian, way too liberal Maine. My friends were supporting Trump, Hillary Clinton's niece was supporting Trump, as well as countless Catholics across the country, but I was not prepared to vote for him unless the Supreme Court became a critical deciding point. Even then the Senate appeared to be a potential snag, which it remains so, as the Democrats have enough gains to push one filibuster after another. My friends persuaded me to vote for Trump, but I vacillated.

Then lo and behold, Clinton herself convinced me to vote for Trump: I read of the email exchange about her contempt for Catholics she called backward and needing to be forced to change. WOW! This was not only arrogant, but revealing as only such hubris can do so. Her rabid pro-abortion, pro-sodomy stance was already repulsive, but this hatred of traditional Catholicism and the threat to undermine it from within was ruthless. All of a sudden I could not wait to get to the polls fast enough and circle in Trump and Pences' names, In fact, for the first time in my life I voted early in order to do so!

Mr. Trump has promised much, but he is not a lawbreaker and wants to adhere to Constitutional limits of governance, so he needs a shower of prayers, daily, for even moderate success. There are powerful forces arrayed against him, some of which he cannot alter no matter how conciliatory and calm he remains: the mass media that openly campaigned for Clinton, international geopolitics and economic globalism, the rise of a militant Muslim majority, a number of whom want to infiltrate the refugee influx in order not to assimilate but convert the nation into a part of the Caliphate. Not to mention the mischief from a Democratic minority that is wily and committed to the godless progressive cause of the transformation of America into hell on earth.

We must pray for President Trump [and VP Pence] very very fervently. We must pray for his conversion, his recognition that without the grace of God, he can do nothing, that he will get down on his knees and thank Him every day and beseech the Holy Trinity not only for inspiration and direction but for interior conversion. His acceptance speech after being declared the winner is a harbinger that he is capable of this and I pray and hope my instincts here are right. I do not know yet if he comprehends that until the natural law is once more enshrined as the foundation of all just law, will God allow America to right itself after having being dashed on the shoals of the misery it willingly and recklessly sailed toward in the storm it created through the Supreme Court rulings on abortion and so-called "gay marriage". Everything will be for naught. Pray for him, pray for America, pray for true justice, pray for humility and repentance.

Donald Trump has demonstrated over the course of the last several weeks that he does possess the temperament to be presidential as the phrase goes. The devil always pulls us our way, if he cannot pull us his way. Pray for President Trump that he will stay on course and avoid the rapids and rocky reefs of the media waiting to trap him in his own words that can be used to portray him as an oafish lout of sorts, etc., etc., etc. Pray for him to retain the dignity of modesty, restraint, but without compromise where the eternal verities are concerned. Pray that he will continue to have the gift of gratitude, which was evident early in the campaign - one of the pluses I duly noted, despite the boasting. He must have true humility, not false modesty - they are as different as day is from night.



SUPPLICATION TO OUR LADY, HELP OF CHRISTIANS

Queen of the most holy Rosary, Help of Christians, refuge of the human race, victorious in all the battles of God, we prostrate ourselves in supplication before thy throne, in the sure hope of obtaining mercy and of receiving grace and timely aid in our present calamities, not through any merits of our own on which we do not rely, but only through the immense goodness of thy mother's Heart. In thee and in thy Immaculate Heart, at this grave hour of human history, do we put our trust; to thee we consecrate ourselves, not only with all of Holy Church, which is the mystical body of thy Son Jesus, and which is suffering in so many of her members, being subjected to manifold tribulations and persecutions, but also with the whole world, torn by discords, agitated with hatred, the victim of its own iniquities.

Be thou moved by the sight of such material and moral degradation, such sorrows, such anguish, so many tormented souls in danger of eternal loss! Do thou, O Mother of mercy, obtain for us from God a Christ-like reconciliation of the nations, as well as those graces which can convert the souls of men in an instant, those graces which prepare the way and make certain the long desired coming of peace on earth. O Queen of peace, pray for us, and grant peace unto the world in the truth, the justice, and the charity of Christ. Above all, give us peace in our hearts, so that the kingdom of God may spread its borders in the tranquillity of order . Accord thy protection to unbelievers and to all those who lie within the shadow of death; cause the Sun of Truth to rise upon them; may they be enabled to join with us in repeating before the Savior of the world:

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of good will."

Give peace to the nations that are separated from us by error or discord, and in a special manner to those peoples who profess a singular devotion toward thee; bring them back to Christ's one fold, under the one true Shepherd. Obtain full freedom for the holy Church of God; defend her from her enemies; check the ever-increasing torrent of immorality; arouse in the faithful a love of purity, a practical Christian life, and an apostolic zeal, so that the multitude of those who serve God may increase in merit and in number.  Ask thy Son to send us holy priests and in numbers to serve the needs of the Catholic faithful. Be thou the mother of priests and seminarians, keeping them pure, devoted to thee and thy Son, maintain them as men set apart  and exclusive for serving the Holy Trinity and thee. Do not let the torrents of worldly woes touch them. And give us a more tender love for thy Immaculate Heart so that we may draw closer to thee and to them by praying for them faithfully.

O Mary, Mother most pure, through whose compassion we have received the holiest of priests; O glorious Patriarch, St. Joseph, perfect model of cooperation with the Divine call; O holy priests, who in Heaven compose a choice choir about the Lamb of God: obtain for us many good vocations in order that the Lord's flock, through the support and government of vigilant shepherds, may attain yo the enjoyment of the most delightful pastures of eternal happiness.

Finally, even as the Church and all mankind were once consecrated to the Heart of thy Son Jesus, because He was for all those who put their hope in Him an inexhaustible source of victory and salvation, so in like manner do we consecrate ourselves forever to thee also and to thy Immaculate Heart, O Mother of us and Queen of the world; may thy love and patronage hasten the day when the kingdomof God shall be victorious and all the nations, at peace with God and with one another, shall call thee blessed and intone with thee, from the rising of the sun to its going down, the everlasting "Magnificat" of glory, of love, of gratitude to the Heart of Jesus, in which alone we can find truth, life, and peace.

RESOLVE TO REMAIN IN THE STATE OF GRACE, AS UNATTACHED TO ANY SIN AS IS POSSIBLE, PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS, FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE SANCTITY OF LIFE, COMMON SENSE AND OUR GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS AND DUTIES UNDER CHRIST'S KINGSHIP! PRAY, PRAY FOR THE CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA TO MARY'S IMMACULATE HEART THAT WE MIGHT HAVE WORLD PEACE AND FOR OURSELVES AND OUR CHILDREN, FOR OUR COUNTRY, FOR THE CHURCH WHICH SHOULD BE MILITANT BUT IS TRULY THE CHURCH SUFFERING WHICH OUGHT TO BE APPLIED TO THE HOLY SOULS IN PURGATORY ALONE. PRAY FOR ALL THOSE CATHOLICS WHO HAVE SHEPHERDS WHO WERE SILENT WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE LED AS TRUE SHEPHERDS, NOT HIRELINGS, AND THUS SO MANY CATHOLICS VOTED FOR CLINTON, ESPECIALLY IN MAINE WHERE SHE WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY LOST ALL 4 ELECTORAL VOTES IF CATHOLICS IN MAINE KNEW AND DID THEIR DUTY AS TRUE CATHOLICS!  PRAISE GOD FOR THOSE BISHOPS AND PRIESTS OUTSIDE THE DIOCESE OF PORTLAND, MAINE WHO WERE BRAVE AND BOLD AND AS CATHOLIC AS CATHOLIC CAN BE AND LED THEIR PEOPLE TO A FULL CATHOLIC CONSCIENCE, WITHOUT RESERVE. THESE WERE MY BISHOPS AND PASTORS, FOR THEY WERE NOT TO BE FOUND BUT IN A FEW SCATTERED OUTPOSTS IN THE NOW DESTITUTE MISSION TERRITORY OF CATHOLIC MAINE!
