First Glorious Mystery:
The Resurrection
At dawn, on the third day after Jesus had died on the Cross, suddenly
there was a great trembling of the earth. An Angel came down from
Heaven and moved the heavy stone from the door of the Sepulchre. Jesus'
Soul came back and rejoined His Body now glorified. By His Own Divine
power, He rose from the tomb. The guards were terrified at what was
happening. They fell prostrate like dead men; and as soon as they
recovered, they fled in great haste to tell what they had seen.
Our Lord had triumphed over death: He would never more die. By
returning to life, He proved Himself God. He is our Way, our Truth, our
Life.
FRUIT OF THE MYSTERY: LOVE OF GOD AND FERVOR IN THE FAITH
We have been spiritually raised from the dead by holy Baptism;
therefore we ought to walk in the newness of a holy life, in order that
we may some day rise up with a glorified body, and live for ever with
God.
Our Lord had allowed nothing of death or the tomb to cloud His glory.
If then He lives in us, nothing may remain in us of sin. We must keep
our body in honor and holy purity, resisting any evil. The members of
our body we may use only for the practice of good works.
