Bl. Ludovica Albertoni 1671-1674 Bl. Ludovica was an ancestor of Clement X. She was a widow who devoted her life to prayer and asisting the poor. When she died of a fever in 1553 she was granted an ecstatic vision. When her servants came to attend to her body, they said her face was "aflame, but so cheerful that she seemed to have returned from Paradise." The piece was commissioned when she was beatified.
